How to Use Kora - Home Workout App: A Beginner's Guide

Jeetech Studio · 2026-10-30

What Kora is

Kora is a home workout app for strength training. It builds a plan around your home, your kit and your week, then coaches you through it. There's no gym and no guesswork.

You tell Kora your goal, how many days you can train, how long you have and what's within reach. That might be just your body, dumbbells, bands, a mat or a chair. In about a minute you have a plan that fits.

Kora is free to download, and your first workout is free.

Getting started

  1. Download Kora from Google Play.
  2. Set your goal. Say what you want to work towards.
  3. Choose your days and time. Pick how many days a week you can train and how long each session can be.
  4. Pick your kit. Select what you have at home, even if that's nothing at all.
  5. Protect problem areas. If you want to look after your knees, lower back, shoulders or wrists, name them. Kora keeps those moves out of your plan. If you'd rather avoid jumping, you can ask for quiet moves too.
  6. Choose a coaching style. Options are supportive, high energy, direct, analytical or calm. Pick whichever helps you keep showing up.

The main workflows

Do today's session

Open the app and you'll see one thing: today's session. It shows how long it takes, what kit it needs and why it's today's session.

If you're short on time or travelling, change the session in a tap.

Work through a guided workout

  1. Start with the optional warm-up. It's short and matched to the muscles you're training. It has timed moves, simple cues and optional voice.
  2. Go through each exercise one set at a time. Every move has a video demo and plain-language cues.
  3. Log your reps and weight after each set.
  4. Use the rest timer between sets. Your screen stays on, so you don't need to keep waking your phone.
  5. Tell Kora how each exercise felt. This helps the next session fit you better.
  6. Finish with the optional cool-down. You can skip the warm-up or cool-down whenever you like.

Talk to your coach

You can tell the coach what's going on in your own words. For example:

  • "I only have 15 minutes"
  • "My knee feels off"
  • "Swap squats for something else"

Your plan adapts.

Train a specific body part

If you want to focus on one area, pick chest, back, shoulders, arms, abs, legs, glutes or full body. Then start a ready-made workout for the kit you own: no kit, dumbbells or bands.

There are also cardio bursts, no-jump cardio and guided mobility flows for stiff hips and desk shoulders. These sit beside your plan and never change it. They count toward a monthly challenge. On rest days, you can do an optional gentle stretch.

Browse the exercise library

You can browse every exercise by muscle, search by name and filter to the kit you have. Open any move to see step-by-step cues and a video demo. It's handy for checking your form before a session.

Track your progress

  • Set a clear goal, such as 12 full push-ups, and retest every few weeks to watch it climb.
  • Check your weekly work, personal bests and full workout history.
  • Add progress photos with a guided check-in.
  • Share a finished workout with a friend.

Tips for beginners

  • Be honest about your time. A plan built around the minutes you really have is easier to stick to.
  • Log how exercises felt. That feedback is how Kora tunes later sessions.
  • Use the warm-up. It takes little time and is matched to what you're training.
  • Tell the coach early. If something feels off, say so and let the plan adapt.
  • Choose a coaching style you like. If one tone doesn't work for you, try another.
  • Set one clear goal. A number you can retest gives you something to aim at.
